Local Attorney Earns Spot on Prestigious International Panel


James A. Christopherson, a member of the Traverse City law firm of Dingeman, Dancer & Christopherson since 1996, was recently appointed to the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution’s Panel of Distinguished Neutrals. The Institute is a membership-based, nonprofit alliance of global corporations, law firms, scholars and public institutions that promotes excellence and innovation in public and private dispute resolution, serving as a primary resource for avoidance, management and resolution of business-related disputes. Mr. Christopherson serves on the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution’s Construction and Employment Panels.

A graduate of Michigan State University and Wayne State University Law School, Christopherson practices primarily in the areas of alternative dispute resolution, healthcare law, construction law, commercial law and oil and gas law. Since 1988, he has served as an arbitrator or mediator in hundreds of cases. He is a member of the American Arbitration Association National Roster of Arbitrators and Mediators and serves as an arbitrator and mediator for the National Arbitration Forum and American Health Lawyers Association. He has mediated and arbitrated many lengthy, complex and multi-party disputes.

Christopherson is a sought-after speaker on arbitration and mediation issues at both the regional and national level. He also serves on several professional committees, including the American Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution Section and Forum on the Construction Industry.
